MISSION AND METHOD

I-ENERGYLINK’s mission is accelerating clean energy by supporting innovative solutions that most effectively increase energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, consolidate the regulatory framework and improve overall power systems reliability. Through customized research, innovation and analysis for decision makers, we uncover the strategies that produce the largest results. We work closely with other international partners active in the energy sector, experts, NGOs, the media, and the private sector to ensure that our work complements theirs.

EXPERIENCE

I-ENERGYLINK is built on the experience of more than 30 years in the electricity industry in electricity Transmission, Distribution and Generation Projects and Studies, as well as Regulation, Policy and Innovation Solutions in both national and international energy environment. Cybersecurity solutions and Digitalisation of the power sector are part of our experience and priorities as well.

We deliver high-quality research and innovation solutions, as well as original analysis to energy stakeholders and policymakers to help them make informed choices on energy related projects, solutions, and policy.

Electricity Transmission

Professional working experience with European Network of Transmission System Operators – ENTSO-E and Mediterranean TSOs – Med-TSO, on System Operations, Project’s implementation in Electricity Transmission Grid, SCADA systems, Protections and Automations, Electricity Transmission Networks. Working close to and cooperating with the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), the National Regulatory Authorities, and the European energy regulators, in particular in the field of the Internal Electricity Market

Managing several Network and System Development Projects together with the European Networks of Transmission System Operators for Electricity – ENTSO-E, in particular for the preparation of the non-binding European-wide Ten-Year Networks Development Plan – TYNDP, HV electricity infrastructure, Smart Grids, Network Codes, Electricity Highways.

Coordination of Regional Investment Plans and PCIs selection as well as close monitoring of 4/6 ENTSO-E regions: North Seas, Baltic Seas, Continental South-West Europe, Continental Central-East Europe on HV network development and integration of Renewable Energy Sources (RES).

Project management and implementation of the EU financed Action “Mediterranean Project I” for Med-TSO, with special focus on monitoring and reporting of related activities, harmonization of the regulatory framework in Mediterranean Countries, Mediterranean Master Plan on defining HV electricity transmission Priority Corridors and interconnections.

Strong impact on Electricity Interconnections and on harmonisation of regulatory framework in the Mediterranean Region; Complex international cultural environment (Europe, Asia and Northern Africa);

Electricity Distribution

Coordination and Implementation of Energy Policy and Regulation activities together with and for European Distribution System Operators – DSOs on electricity Distribution Networks,  Smart Grids, TSOs and DSOs Cooperation, Regulation and Policy, RES and DG, Research, Development and Innovation.
Active in the European Commission BRIDGE Initiative on electricity distribution and regulations, with coordination role within the Cooperation Group of Smart Grids and Energy Storage.
Relevant experience in managing international energy projects financed by International Financial Institutions (IFIs), including Economic Resilience Initiative – Infrastructure Technical Assistance – ERI – ITA financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) – the West Bank Power Distribution Reinforcement Study Palestine (West Bank) on the Five Years Electricity Distribution Network Reinforcement Investment Plan (5YDNRIP).
Experience with DSOs on corporate governance of public enterprises, priority investments, overall management, and coordination to increase efficiency of activities and resources. Leading strategic, financial, and technical actions and analysis, defining, and implementing DSO strategy and setting international cooperation priorities.
Working directly with major European DSOs including RWE, EdF, Vatenfall, E.ON, ENEL, ENDESA, EDP, ELECTRICA, ELECTRABEL, CEZ, ESB, ENERGIENED, VAASA, etc. Focusing on investments & Smart Grids, RES & DG integration to the Electricity Distribution Grid.
Cooperation with the European Economic and Social Committee – ECOSOC Section for Transport, Energy, Infrastructure and the Information Society – TEN/211 on Integration of Renewables to the electricity grid.

Electricity Generation

Managing several Small Hydro Power Plant – SHPP generation Projects (up to 10 MW) from design, implementation, operation and optimization. All project cycle management: studies, design, tenders, defining and supervision of the execution of the Work Plan for Project investments.
Implementing Photovoltaic Power Plant – PV generation and operation in conjunction with innovative cyber-security solutions for protecting the electricity distribution grid against cyber-attacks.
Applications for energy efficiency and savings in electricity generation and networks, hydropower plants, rehabilitation of hydro power plants, reduction of energy losses in SHPP and distribution networks.
Leading a Feasibility Study for developing New and especially Green Electricity Tariffs based on Load Profiles in the UK and Romania.
