CYBERGUARD - Fortifying SOCs Against Evolving Cyber Threats

CyberGuard project presents a technical concept focusing on the integration of advanced technologies to strengthen the capabilities of SOCs in detecting, preventing, and responding to cyber threats. The CyberGuard project encompasses a comprehensive approach, leveraging state-of-the-art methodologies in malware analysis, penetration testing, privilege escalation detection, research & mitigation of attacks targeting Large Language Models (LLMs), and adversarial attacks in Machine learning models employed and used in Security Operation Centers. Furthermore, the project prioritizes the development of scalable and interoperable solutions, facilitating seamless integration with existing SOC infrastructure and third-party security tools.

CYBERFORT - Strengthening Cyber Defenses of SMEs for Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) Compliance

CYBERFORT presents a holistic strategy aimed at reinforcing the cybersecurity infrastructure of European Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), with a particular emphasis on micro and small businesses. CyberFort’s mission is to elevate SMEs’ cybersecurity readiness by facilitating compliance with the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) through the deployment of customized compliance tools, cybersecurity best practices, and comprehensive educational resources. This initiative is designed to navigate SMEs through the intricate landscape of cybersecurity threats, focusing on the creation of a collaborative ecosystem that includes cybersecurity firms, national authorities, and crucial industry stakeholders in sectors like maritime and energy.

INTERconnected Security Operation Centres

INTERSOC (INTERconnected  Security OperatIon Centres) envisions to improve disruption preparedness and resilience of digital infrastructures to sophisticated attacks, through advanced threat forecasting, cyber-incident detection and response capabilities, at national and EU level, and dedicated training sessions in digital infrastructure security, while respecting privacy and other fundamental rights. To achieve this, INTERSOC will design and develop a user-centric intelligent threat defence and decision support platform

Enhancing Security of European SMEs in Response to Cybersecurity Threats

SECUR-EU (Project nº 101128029) – aims to foster a common culture of cybersecurity awareness among SMEs that will help quickly develop the necessary cybersecurity solutions to address all emerging threats. SECUR-EU will develop, model, and address cybersecurity challenges of SMEs, aiming to deliver security testing tools that will improve the security of organizations and critical infrastructures.

CROSS BOrder management of variable renewable energies and storage units enabling a transnational Wholesale market

CROSSBOW (Project nº 773430) – CROSS Border management of variable renewable energies and storage units enabling a transnational Wholesale market (€ 22 million) – Coordinating joint activities with 9 TSOs in South-East Europe: ADMIE (GR), ESO (BG), EMS (RS), NOS BiH (BA), HOPS (HR), ELES (SI), CGES (ME), MEPSO (MK), TRANSELECTRICA (RO) and other 15 partners in 13 countries.

Securing Critical Energy Infrastructures

SUCCESS (Project nº 700416) – Securing Critical Energy Infrastructures (€ 5 million) – Comprehensive approach to threat and countermeasure analysis for Smart Energy networks with special focus on the vulnerabilities introduced by Smart Meters. The project designed, developed and validated a novel holistic adaptable security framework in small scale field trials.  When next generation real time scalable unbundled smart meters are deployed in smart electricity grid, the risks of potential cyber threats and attacks will be significantly reduced.

Renewables in a Stable Electric Grid

RE-SERVE (Project nº 727481) – Renewables in a Stable Electric Grid (€ 5 million) – Developing new techniques & solutions based on 5G technology to assist energy providers with: balancing the voltage and frequency of the power grid to maintain a stable power supply to society, while increasing the proportion of power generated by volatile RES, such as solar and wind energy. Results include Network Code & ancillary services definitions.

Wide scale demonstration of Integrated Solutions and business models for European smart GRID

WISEGRID (Project nº 731205) – Wide scale demonstration of Integrated Solutions and business models for European smart GRID (€ 17 million) – Interoperable mechanisms allowing increased monitoring & controllability of the distribution grid & integrate storage technologies, demand response schemes, Evs & interfaces for energy consume

Enabling Smart Energy as a Service via 5G Mobile Network advances

NRG5 (Project nº 762013) – Enabling Smart Energy as a Service via 5G Mobile Network advances (€ 7 million) – Contribution to the 5G PPP/5G Initiative activities and participation at the relevant 5G WGs by delivering a novel 5G-PPP compliant, decentralized, secureand resilient framework, with highly NRG5 will support the deployment, operation and management of existing and new communications and energy infrastructures.

Service Oriented Grid for the Network of the Future

SOGNO (Project nº 774613) – Service Oriented Grid for the Network of the Future. SOGNO addressed the challenge of increasing RES-based generation at distribution level by combining the application of deep intelligence techniques, industry grade data analysis and visualisation tools, advanced sensors, an advanced power measurement unit and 5G based ICT to provide fine grained visibility and control of both MV and LV power networks using end to end automation in a virtualised environment.

Electrical Power System’s Shield against complex incidents and extensive cyber and privacy attacks.

PHOENIX (Project nº 832989) – Electrical Power System’s Shield against complex incidents and extensive cyber and privacy attacks. PHOENIX aims to offer a cyber-shield armour to European EPES infrastructure enabling cooperative detection of large scale, cyber-human security and privacy incidents and attacks, guarantee the continuity of operations and minimize cascading effects in the infrastructure itself, the environment, the citizens and the end-users at reasonable cost.

Providing flexibility to the grid by enabling VPPs to offer both fast and slow dynamics control services

EDGEFLEX (Project nº 883710) Managing future grids with the new VPP Concept. EdgeFLEX proposes a new architecture for VPPs deploying such a multi-layer solution, paving the way for a fully renewable energy system. VPPs are brought to a new level, enabling them to interact on markets offering various ancillary services to System Operators.
